Former presidential spokesperson Dr. Doyin Okupe is feared to have passed away. Family sources have confirmed that he died on Friday at the age of 71.

Okupe, who served as a senior adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, also played a significant role as the Director-General of Peter Obi’s 2023 Presidential Campaign. In December 2022, Okupe stepped down from his position in Obi’s campaign following a money laundering conviction.

He later resigned from the Labour Party after the conclusion of the 2023 general elections. As of now, details surrounding his death remain unclear.
