Twenty-nine lawmakers loyal to Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, arrived at the Lagos State High Court on Friday for the hearing of a lawsuit filed by Agege lawmaker, Mudashiru Obasa.

Obasa had challenged his removal in court after 36 of his colleagues voted him out on January 13, 2025.

In his application, dated February 12, 2025, and filed by his lawyer, Chief Afolabi Fashanu (SAN), Obasa argued that his removal was unconstitutional, claiming it happened while he was out of the country.

Representing Meranda in court is a legal team led by Prof. Tayo Oyetibo (SAN).

As of the time of this report, Meranda and other lawmakers have also arrived at the courtroom for the proceedings.
