Former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, made a dramatic entry into the assembly complex on Thursday.
Obasa, accompanied by security officials, reportedly entered the Speaker’s Office around 12 noon, just hours after security aides assigned to the current Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, were withdrawn.
Confirming the incident, Meranda’s Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye, accused Obasa and his team of forcefully entering the office.
A source from Obasa’s camp also confirmed their presence at the assembly, stating, “We’re at the assembly now.”
The development adds a new twist to the ongoing leadership crisis within the Lagos State House of Assembly.
