The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has successfully rescued the wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu, neutralized her kidnappers, and recovered the ransom.
Mrs. Odumosu was abducted on Friday from her residence in Arepo, Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State by four heavily armed men. The kidnappers reportedly stormed the residence, firing shots into the air before dragging Mrs. Odumosu from her Lexus Jeep. She was taken through swampy terrain to an undisclosed location.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the operation in a statement, saying, “Police Neutralize AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s Wife’s Kidnappers, Recover Ransom. The IGP has commended the Police Operatives and CP Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, for a job well done. We remain committed to safeguarding Nigerian citizens and our dear country.”
Adejobi added that further details about the rescue operation would be disclosed later. The Inspector General of Police praised the swift and coordinated efforts of the Ogun State Police Command in bringing the situation under control.
