After thirty years of marriage, Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, and his wife, Cristina Serra, have called it quits.
The divorce is “totally cordial, stable, and friendly,” according to a report published by SPORT on Monday.
According to the story, Guardiola and Cristina fell apart after at least five years of working abroad.
The couple married in 2014, close to Barcelona, after meeting in 1994.
Together, they have three children: Valentina, 17, Marius, 22, and Maria, 24.
It is said that while Guardiola remains in Manchester, Serra and Valentina, one of their three kids, have been residing in Barcelona full-time.
According to the article, they decided to dissolve their marriage in December, and at first, only those close to them knew about it.
Family members and friends have also been cautioned against disclosing any additional details on the divorce.
In 2019, Serra left Manchester to work for her family’s fashion business, Serra Claret.
Although it was thought that Guardiola would depart the team at the end of his previous term, he signed a new two-year contract with the Premier League champions in November that would last until 2027.
