November 26, 2024 Port Harcourt Refinery Begins Operations

The Port Harcourt Refinery, owned by Nigeria, has officially begun processing crude oil, according to Olufemi Soneye, spokesperson for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

Soneye announced on Tuesday that the refinery has started operations at 60 percent capacity, currently processing 60,000 barrels of crude oil per day. The facility has a total refining capacity of 250,000 barrels per day.

This development marks a significant milestone after numerous missed deadlines for the refinery's resumption of operations.
