American television host Oprah Winfrey has dismissed claims that she was paid $1 million to campaign for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the recent U.S. presidential election.
The Washington Examiner had alleged that Winfrey’s company, Harpo Productions, was compensated to host a celebrity town hall for Harris in September. In response, Winfrey firmly denied the report, stating, “Not true. I was paid nothing, ever,” as reported by TMZ.
While Oprah declined to comment on the election outcome, which saw Republican nominee Donald Trump win the presidency, she maintained that her involvement with Harris was entirely voluntary and uncompensated.
