October 24, 2024 Tinubu Requests Senate Confirmation for New Ministerial Nominees

President Bola Tinubu has formally submitted a request to the Senate, seeking the confirmation of seven newly announced ministerial nominees. The request, delivered in a letter to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, was read at the start of Thursday’s plenary session.

In the letter, President Tinubu urged the Senate to expedite the review and confirmation of the nominees for their respective ministerial positions.

The nominees include Nentawe Yilwatda (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction), Muhammadu Dingyadi (Labour and Employment), Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu (State Foreign Affairs), and Jumoke Oduwole (Industry, Trade, and Investment). Other nominees are Idi Mukhtar Maiha (Livestock Development), Yusuf Ata (State, Housing and Urban Development), and Suwaiba Ahmad (State Education).

Senate President Akpabio referred the nominees to the Committee of the Whole for prompt legislative review and action.
