October 16, 2024 Davido’s Father Set to Launch Nigeria’s Largest Power Plant in January

Adedeji Adeleke, father of music star Davido, has announced plans to launch Nigeria’s largest power plant. Speaking at the Seventh Day Adventist General Conference Annual Council, Adeleke revealed that his current power facility contributes around 15 percent of the nation's electricity supply.

His company, already a major player in the energy sector, is partnering with Chinese engineering firms to complete the new 1,250MW thermal power plant, which is set to become operational by January. Once finished, it will be the largest of its kind in Nigeria.

"In Nigeria, I am in the electricity business; I own a power plant, and currently, I generate about 15% of the country’s electricity needs. I am working with Chinese engineering companies, and by the grace of God, the new 1,250MW plant, the largest in Nigeria, will be operational by January," Adeleke shared.
