October 9, 2024 Osimhen Confirms Return on October 19

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has confirmed he will return to action immediately after the international break. The 25-year-old, who sustained an injury during Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw with Kasimpasa, announced in a video that he plans to be back for the club’s next league match against Antalyaspor on October 19.

This update is a relief for Galatasaray fans, who initially feared Osimhen could be out until November after being diagnosed with a muscle strain. The injury, which occurred shortly after he scored twice in the game, forced him to be substituted at halftime. The club promptly announced that he had started treatment.

Osimhen’s injury also ruled him out of Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya. Initially, it was expected that he would miss six weeks, but in a video circulating on social media, Osimhen confidently stated, “After the international break,” when asked about his return by Turkish journalist Caner Isbegendiren.

Osimhen’s early return is a major boost for Galatasaray. Turkish football analyst Emre Sarıgül remarked, “Osimhen’s return will be a massive lift for Galatasaray. His goal-scoring ability and physical presence will make a significant difference in the Süper Lig.”

Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September, Osimhen has already made a strong impact, scoring two goals and providing four assists in just four matches. His return is key for the team as they look to extend their lead in the Turkish Super Lig and defend their title.

In addition to his early-season success, Osimhen recently won the Turkish Super Lig Goal of the Week award, receiving 77.96% of the votes for his outstanding strike against Kasimpasa. Despite his brief absence, he remains a fan favorite, with thousands of supporters welcoming him to Istanbul when he joined the club.

With Osimhen’s return imminent, Galatasaray fans are hopeful that the Nigerian forward will continue his fine form and lead the team to more victories in the weeks ahead.
