Tom Dele-Bashiru has signed a new contract with Sky Bet Championship club Watford. The midfielder has agreed to a two-year deal with an option for an additional year.
Dele-Bashiru joined Watford on a free transfer in 2019 and has since become a versatile player for the team, occasionally filling in as a right-back during the 2023/24 season. He made 38 appearances and scored three goals last season.
His debut for Watford came in August 2019 during a Carabao Cup match against Coventry City, and he scored his first goal for the club in the FA Cup against Tranmere Rovers in January 2020. Unfortunately, his 2020/21 season was cut short by an ACL injury.
In an effort to gain more playing time and recover his fitness, Dele-Bashiru was loaned to Reading for the 2021/22 season, where he scored four goals in 39 appearances. However, his return to Watford in 2022/23 was again marred by injury, limiting him to just six matches.
