The passing of Rafiu Ibrahim, a former Senator from Kwara State, has been confirmed. He succumbed to a brief illness at the age of 57, as per a statement released by his family and obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday.
The statement requests prayers and support during this challenging time and assures that burial arrangements will be communicated later. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq expressed shock and sorrow over the news, emphasizing the unpredictability of death for all.
Ibrahim, who served as a senator from 2015 to 2019, representing Kwara South Senatorial District, was known for his leadership of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions. Throughout his tenure, he sponsored six bills and oversaw eight others.
