Former Spokesperson of the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 2023 Election, Atiku Abubakar, Daniel Bwala, has met President Bola Tinubu in Paris, France.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bwala said he met President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as the father of the nation, in Paris, saying he continues to share his thoughts and demonstrate his passion to lead Nigeria out of the woods.
Bwala’s visit came about three weeks after he visited the president in Aso Villa, Abuja.
The Borno-born politician, a fierce critic of Tinubu, the then Presidential Candidate of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), said his decision to support the former Lagos Governor now does not mean he betrayed Atiku.
He had described absurd criticisms trailing his sudden-found support for President Tinubu, whom he criticised during the 2023 political process.
In July 2022, Bwala, then an APC member, dumped the ruling party when Tinubu announced a Muslim/Muslim ticket with former Borno Governor Kashim Shettima and quickly joined the campaign train of Atiku, a Muslim who chose former Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, a Christian, as his running mate.
However, on January 10, 2024, Daniel Bwala visited the President at the Aso Villa in Abuja and declared unalloyed support for him, saying he was willing to work with the President in any capacity in the interest of Nigerians.
