The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Olatunji Disu, has issued a nationwide directive for the apprehension of the culprits responsible for the killing of Ndidi Livingstone, the Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) in Mgbuoshimini community, Obio/Akpo Local Government Area of Rivers.
CP Olatunji Disu conveyed this directive during a visit to the residence of the deceased's family in Port Harcourt on Thursday. Unidentified assailants fatally shot Ndidi Livingstone after attending a church service at the Rumueme Waterfront area in Port Harcourt on Saturday. The assailants, who were driving a black Sport Utility Vehicle, quickly fled the scene following the multiple gunshots.
Expressing condolences to the grieving family, CP Olatunji Disu assured them that the perpetrators of Ndidi Livingstone's murder would face justice. He emphasised the commitment of the police to resolve the case and apprehend those responsible for the heinous act.
During his visit, CP Disu empathized with the pain experienced by the deceased's family, comprising his wife, children, and other relatives. He reiterated that the police, with the support of the public, would not allow the matter to remain unresolved. A nationwide search has been initiated to track down the individuals involved, and the police commissioner assured the public that significant progress was being made toward apprehending the suspects.
Mr. Godspower Livingstone, the elder brother of the late CDC chairman, expressed gratitude for CP Disu's visit and appealed for swift action in arresting and prosecuting the perpetrators. The family appreciated the support and cooperation of the police in resolving the tragic incident.
