Abuja-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG), has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the resurgence and abduction of citizens for ransom by criminals operating across the country.
They were reacting to the recent incident that affected Mansur Al-Kadriyyah in Abuja, where a whole family was abducted.
The group maintained that it is mind-boggling that the eldest daughter of the family, a 400-level student of a Nigerian university, Nabeeha, was killed over the weekend, leaving the five victims in terrible danger of extermination by the kidnappers.
In a statement issued in Abuja and signed by its National Coordinator, Malam Ibrahim Abdullahi, MMWG called for an immediate crackdown on the criminals.
The Chairman of Bwari Local Council Area in the FCT, John Gbaya, has called on authorities to be more intentional about addressing the issue of insecurity.
Also reacting to the development, callers on our Breakfast Talk show, The Big Story, expressed great displeasure.
