January 15, 2024 Chief Of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa Charges Troops To Remain Resolute As Nigeria Marks Armed Force Remembrance Day

It’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day, an annual event celebrated every January 15 in honour and recognition of fallen heroes and gallant men and women of the Nigerian Army Forces who paid the supreme price in defending the nation's unity, peace, and prosperity.

The Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, has urged troops to remain resolute in defeating insecurity and ensuring enduring peace.

In his goodwill message to the armed forces on this day, the CDS said the commemoration holds great significance, providing the opportunity to reflect on fallen heroes' sacrifices, bravery, and commitment to defending the country's territorial integrity.

He, therefore, urged the service members to remain vigilant and uncompromising in discharging their constitutional responsibilities.

On his part, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, said there is no better way to pay tribute to the fallen heroes than to sustain the joint air, ground, and maritime strikes against terrorists, economic saboteurs, and other non-state actors in the country.

Also, the Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force North East Operation, Hadin Kai, Major General Gold Chibuisi, sheds more light on the day's significance.
