Prof. Tajudeen Olumoko, Dean of Student Affairs of Lagos State University, Ojo, has been fired.
His dismissal was in response to a news article published online.
According to the story, a certificate racketeering organization sold genuine Lagos State University diplomas for between N2m and N3m, depending on the difficulty of the course concerned.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, a senior lecturer in the Department of Political Science, has been named as acting DSA.
“Yes, it is true, Olumoko has been removed and Abatan has taken over as DSA,” a university source who did not want to be identified told our correspondent. Yesterday (Tuesday), something occurred.”
However, when asked about the school’s reaction to Prof Olumoko’s departure, LASU’s Coordinator of Information and Public Relations, Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile said, “I’m not sure if he’s been removed or not.” I have not yet arrived at the office. So far, I don’t know anything.”
