The Rivers State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the tragic death of another female student at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).
The student, identified as Adaeze, was a 200-level undergraduate studying Accounting. The cause of her death remains uncertain at the time of this report. Her lifeless body was discovered in her off-campus residence in Aluu, a community near the university.
This unfortunate incident occurred just two weeks after the decomposing body of another UNIPORT student, Justina Otuene, was found in the residence of her ex-lover, Damian Okoligwe, who has since been arrested. Okoligwe, a 400-level student of Petrochemical Engineering, was implicated in Otuene's death.
According to Prof. Chima Wokocha, the Dean of Student Affairs at UNIPORT, Adaeze's body was brought to a health facility in the school by some of her neighbours. The police, along with the university management, have visited the scene of the incident, and the deceased student's parents have been informed of the tragic event.
The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident and stated that the investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding Adaeze's untimely death. The initial report suggests that she was found with foam around her nose and mouth, and a bottle of a substance, possibly a sniper, was discovered nearby.
