Four persons are said to have died as a result of a bandit attack in Maru, which is located in Zamfara State’s Maru Local Government Area.
According to Mohammed Bawa, a local, the Emir of Maru, Abubakar Maigari, escaped when the bandits stormed his castle, but one of his guards was slain on the spot and others were injured.
According to Bawa, many gunfire also damaged the emir’s vehicles.
He claimed that the bandits returned to town on Thursday in search of the Emir, and when they couldn’t find him, they walked from home to house, killing four individuals.
Bawa said, “The bandits invaded the Emir’s palace and opened fire indiscriminately in an attempt to kill the Emir, but he escaped.
“They killed one of the palace guards and damaged all the vehicles in that place.
In a statement, the state commissioner for information, Munnir Haidara, said, “Following the security situation in Maru town, the state government has closed down the Maru market until the security situation is improved.
