Tragedy struck on Monday as four individuals lost their lives, and three others sustained various degrees of injuries in a harrowing accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when a luxury bus collided with a truck.
The Public Education Officer for the Ogun State Sector of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe, confirmed the distressing incident in Abeokuta.
Okpe said the truck involved in the collision did not halt after the bus crashed into it while negotiating a bend near the "Kara" area on the expressway.
A total of 21 individuals were caught up in the accident, comprising 13 men and eight women. Regrettably, the bodies of the deceased have been placed in a morgue located in the Sagamu area of Ogun State. Simultaneously, the injured victims have been swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
"The corpses were deposited at a morgue in Sagamu in Ogun, while the injured were taken to a nearby hospital," conveyed Florence Okpe, providing the sad details of the tragic incident.
