The public has met the news with relief and hope for justice for Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. Videos on social media captured the moment police officers arrived at the burial site to retrieve the coffin, providing visual evidence of the empty grave and the ensuing jubilation.

Mohbad's tragic passing on September 12, 2023, sent shockwaves through Nigeria and the global entertainment industry, leaving his fans in mourning. His swift burial in Ikorodu, as explained by his father Joseph Aloba, adhered to Yoruba customs, given that both of his parents were still alive, and the burial site was the only land he owned.

Posthumously, disturbing videos of Mohbad's mistreatment under his former record label, including a self-recorded video where he held Naira Marley responsible for any harm. Mohbad had also filed a petition with the Nigerian police seeking protection from Marlian Music, Sammy Larry, and Marley himself.
