The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi, have rejected the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal affirming the election of President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement, the national publicity secretary of the LP, Obiora Ifoh, said justice was not served in the judgement, adding that it did not reflect the law and desires of the people.
He said details of the party’s position will be presented after consultation with our lawyers after the Certified True Copy of the judgment is made available.
The LP, however, urged all lovers of democracy to remain focused and hopeful, adding that a new Nigeria is possible.
Also, Atiku’s Lead Counsel, Chris Uche, SAN, said he had received instructions from his client to file an appeal at the Supreme Court.
