FC Barcelona and Anderson Luis de Souza “Deco” have agreed to terms for his arrival.

The first team player from 2004 to 2008 signed a three-year contract as the Club’s sporting director.

Deco will be in charge of establishing FC Barcelona’s sporting philosophy, assembling the team with the coach and the coaching staff, and eventually becoming head of the football division.

This inclusion is consistent with the announcement issued on 2 May, in which the President and Director of the Football Area, Mateu Alemany, committed to relinquish his duties after the current transfer window closes on 2 September.

According to the press release, Deco and Mateu Alemany will continue to collaborate until the transfer window closes.

The FC Barcelona sporting organization will be revealed in the coming weeks.
