July 24, 2023 Nigerian Air Force Denies Recruitment; Spokesman Clarifies Situation

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has issued a warning about a fake recruitment advertisement circulating on social media platforms, cautioning potential applicants against falling victim to fraudulent schemes.

Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for NAF, made an official statement on Monday, July 24, 2023, in Abuja, clarifying that "NAF is not recruiting" at the moment.

Gabkwet emphasized that the advertisement in question did not originate from the NAF and urged Nigerians to be cautious and vigilant. He also reminded the public that the NAF recently completed the graduation of recruits from Basic Military Training Course 43/2022 on July 8.

The NAF spokesperson assured that any future recruitment drive by the Nigerian Air Force would be formally announced to the public, providing them with accurate information on the application process and requirements.

This measure aims to protect aspiring applicants from falling prey to fraudulent activities and ensures that the recruitment process remains transparent and legitimate.

“The public is please once again reminded that recruitment and selection process into the NAF is free and without any form of gratification. Anyone who pays money under any guise does so at his or her own risk.

“Furthermore, NAF recruitment process is devoid of recruitment agents, hence anyone who claims to be operating in such capacity on behalf of the NAF is a fraudster.

“The NAF wishes to advise prospective applicants to promptly report anyone who solicit for payments to the nearest NAF Unit or the Nigeria Police Force,” he said.
