Brighton's esteemed captain, Lewis Dunk, has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2026. The 31-year-old central defender has been a mainstay at Brighton since his debut in League One back in 2010, accumulating an impressive 416 appearances.
Manager Roberto de Zerbi expressed his delight at the news, stating, "It's great news for both Lewis and the club. I'm truly thrilled that he has signed this new contract."
Brighton had a remarkable season, finishing sixth in the Premier League, securing their first-ever qualification for European competition.
Dunk, who earned his sole England cap during a friendly triumph over the USA in 2018, was recently called up for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia. Unfortunately, he had to withdraw due to injury.
Having been appointed as Brighton's club captain in 2019, Dunk continues to be a pivotal figure in the team's success and will now continue his journey with the club until 2026.
