June 29, 2023 Arsenal Secures £105m Agreement to Sign West Ham Midfielder

Arsenal Set to Sign Declan Rice from West Ham in £105m Agreement

In an exciting development, Arsenal Football Club has reached an agreement worth £105m to secure the services of Declan Rice, the talented midfielder from West Ham United and England.

Negotiations between the two clubs are currently underway to determine the structure of the deal for the 24-year-old player.

This successful agreement comes after Arsenal made their third bid, surpassing the previous two offers that fell short of West Ham's £100m valuation.

Earlier, Manchester City, who had a £90m bid for Rice rejected just a day before, have decided to withdraw from the race for his signature.

Declan Rice, who joined West Ham's academy from Chelsea in 2014, has served as the captain of the Hammers. Under his leadership, the club recently achieved victory in the Europa Conference League, securing their first major trophy in 43 years.

The midfielder's contract with West Ham was originally set to expire in 2024. Arsenal's bid consists of an initial payment of £100m, with an additional £5m in potential add-ons. This initial fee matches the British record that Manchester City paid for midfielder Jack Grealish.

Notably, earlier this month, England midfielder Jude Bellingham completed a move to Real Madrid for an initial fee of £88.5m, which could potentially rise to £115m with activated add-ons.

Currently, the Premier League's most expensive signing stands at £107m (€121m), which Chelsea paid to Benfica for the transfer of Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez in January.
