In an exciting announcement on Tuesday, Guinness World Records declared Hilda Baci as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
According to a statement released on the GWR website, Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has officially shattered the previous record with an astounding time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
The 26-year-old Nigerian chef embarked on her remarkable culinary journey on Thursday, May 11, and persevered through to Monday, May 15, preparing over 100 pots of delectable food during her extraordinary four-day kitchen marathon.
Hilda initially aimed to achieve a remarkable 100-hour record. However, due to a minor error, approximately seven hours were deducted from her final total. It turns out she inadvertently included extra minutes during one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.
Nonetheless, Hilda's accomplishment is nothing short of remarkable. Her dedication, skill, and endurance have earned her a well-deserved place in the Guinness World Records.
