After embarking on a trip to Saudi Arabia without PSG's authorization, Lionel Messi has been suspended for two weeks.
The unapproved trip came in the wake of PSG's home loss to Lorient, in which Messi played the entire game. During his suspension period, the 35-year-old will be unable to practice or compete with the team.
Reportedly, Messi had sought approval to travel to Saudi Arabia for business purposes but was denied permission.
The superstar is under the impression that he had initially received consent to make the trip, but that PSG later withdrew it due to a change in their training timetable.
