The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has described as systematic, unceasing attacks on its offices across the country.
For the second time in one week, two of INEC’s offices in Imo State were razed by arsonists.
While the first attack occurred last Thursday in Orlu Local Government Area, the second took place around 4 am on Sunday.
INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye disclosed this in a statement.
Okoye said it is the 7th attack on INEC facilities in five states of the Federation in the last four months.
He added that the Commission is deeply worried about the consequences of such attacks on its facilities across the country on the conduct of elections in particular and electoral activities in general.
Speaking on the latest development, Security Analyst, Kabiru Adamu said the attackers are not invisible, while he called on security agencies to be proactive.
