Dike Osinachi, commonly known as Apama, a Nollywood comedy actor, has lost his two-year-old only son, Jidenna.
Onyebuchi David, Osinachi's manager, verified the news on Wednesday.
According to David, the child died in the hospital on Tuesday morning from an unidentified illness.
In response to questions about the child's death, David said, "Yes, it's verified. It occurred at the hospital yesterday morning."
David declined to speak more on the matter and instead asked for prayers for the family.
Late Tuesday, Osinachi posted on his Facebook page, saying, "God is still God."
On Wednesday, he also posted a video of a gospel hymn on Instagram with the message, "It's well."
Fans expressed their condolences and offered prayers and support in the comments section.
Onyinye Ibe, a Facebook admirer, said, "Take heart, sir. Everything is OK with you and your family. God is aware of everything. He will not humiliate you since you are a decent person. Keep your cool for the sake of your wife and children. "God will carry you through."
"It's all right, sir," replied another admirer, Miracle Igwe. In Jesus' name, God will bless you with the one who will remain. Amen.”
The comedian has two children with his wife, Prisca.
