Tobi Amusan of Nigeria has been named one of five finalists for the Women's World Athlete of the Year 2022 Award, according to a statement published by World Athletics on Monday.

As the countdown to the World Athletics Awards 2022 continues, the names of the five contenders for Women's World Athlete of the Year have been revealed.

According to World Athletics, a total of 1.3 million votes were cast by email and online voting via World Athletics social media channels.

On October 31, a three-way voting procedure was completed to decide the candidates for the 2022 World Athletes of the Year, and the winner will be revealed on World Athletics' social media channels in early December.
