Kunle Afolayan, a veteran actor and film producer, has explained why he cast his daughter, Eyiyemi Afolayan, in the part of Princess Omowunmi in his newest release, Anikulapo.
Afolayan, who shared a brief video clip of himself and his daughter on his Instagram page on Wednesday, said the part demanded someone attractive, and his daughter is certainly lovely. He went on to say that the boy is also a wonderful vocalist and a natural actor.
Eyiyemi is Afolayan's first kid, and she made her acting debut on the set of Anikulapo.
"If you want to represent the character of a princess, I think there is no denying that the individual needs to be beautiful, and she is lovely," Afolayan added.
“It felt good because I did not have to pay her, even though I was paying her directly or indirectly.”
"Omowunmi is really dumb since Saro never offered love to her but she already started forming notions in her brain," Eyiyemi remarked of her part as Princess Omowunmi in the film. She is stunning, without a question, but she is also gullible."
A statement by Kunle Afolayan Productions, commenting on the debut of Eyiyemi said, “Train up a child in the way he should go so that when he is old he won’t depart from it. It is obvious that Kunle Afolayan takes it upon himself to imbibe valuable teachings in his children. Everyone attests to how respectful they are and humble regardless of their father’s societal status.
“Not only is Eyiyemi Afolayan a natural at acting, her father attests to the fact that she sings well too, just like her brother Diekoloreoluwa Afolayan – Kunle Afolayan’s second child and first son.”
