The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has said the registration of two new trade unions by the government for academic staff in the university system is inconsequential and does not pose any threat to its existence.

The National President of ASUU, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, stated this while reacting to the registration of the two new unions.

Professor Osodeke, said the inordinate ambitions of the splinter groups fed the labour minister’s hubris.

Osodeke said Ngige was only being desperate over what was known to him alone.

Also reacting, former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega condemned the action of the federal government.
