Students across the state returned to school today (Monday).
According to the Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Mr. Aliyu Tilde, the state administration has finalized plans to separate male and female pupils in secondary schools.
Tilde told reporters following a State Executive Council (SEC) meeting in Bauchi that it would only be carried out when and where it was practicable.
He added that the goal was to fight moral decay, which he claims has grown rampant among secondary school pupils.
According to him, private schools would follow the initiative's lead and separate the guys who would attend academic activities in one facility and the girls in another.
