Troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces operating in North-west and North-central theatres of operations have eliminated over 45 terrorists and bandits in both land and air operations in the last two weeks.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Bernard Onyeuko, made this known at a bi-weekly news briefing of the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
He said as a result of the operations, 45 kidnapped civilians were released.
General Onyeuko further said troops of Operation Whirl Stroke arrested some notorious criminals who had been on the wanted list of the theatre command.
He also mentioned that two more terrorists suspected to be members of the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) that attacked St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, have been arrested.
