The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina has said the President has to proceed with his scheduled foreign trip because one should never surrender to the antics of terrorists.
Adesina stated this in reaction to the criticisms that trailed the decision of the President to go ahead with his trip to participate in the International Development Association (IDA) for Africa Summit in Dakar, Senegal.
While explaining the reasons the President was traveling to Senegal, said he should go because there’s an international conference meant for heads of states and presidents which he should attend and never give in to terrorists.
The President left Abuja amid series of attacks in the last 24 hours in Katsina and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Bandits opened fire on a convoy of his advance team in Katsina on Tuesday.
The team was heading for Daura, the president’s hometown when bandits ambushed them. In yet another Katsina attack, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, was gunned down.
Also, gunmen broke into Kuje Prison in the nation’s capital and set inmates, including high-profile Boko Haram suspects, free.
