AS Roma has finalized the signing of LOSC Lille’s right-back, Zeki Celik for a reported fee of £6m.
Zeki Celik, who has signed a four-year contract with the Serie A club, was said to be a target for Mourinho when he was the manager of Tottenham Hotspur.
"For me, it is an honour to play for such an important club," Celik said. "I have great ambitions and I want to contribute to the success of the team.
"I feel ready and focused. I never give up, and you will always see me fighting on the pitch."
The Turkish player becomes the third signing of Jose Mourinho after Nemanja Matic from Manchester United and Mile Svilar from SL Benfica
Celik bade farewell to his former club, where he spent 4 seasons, winning the Ligue 1 title in 2020-2021 season.
The story anticipates that the green light from the selling party could arrive within the next few days. In the midfield, Roma have identified Davide Frattesi as their ideal target this summer. An alternative to Frattesi is Houssem Aouar, for whom Tiago Pinto has already made an enquiry. Lyon have made it clear that they want a fee of €20 million to sell the Frenchman.
The Giallorossi could even add one between Felix Afena-Gyan and Cristian Volpato to lower Sassuolo’s valuation for Frattesi. Otherwise, there is interest in Lyon’s Houssem Aouar.
