In a shocking twist of events, a 2023 presidential hopeful, Peter Obi, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The letter conveying his resignation from the party was submitted to the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu by the Director General of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Organisation, Dr. Doyin Okupe.
The action, according to Okupe, was because of current happenings within the main opposition party, which he said do not give OBI the space to fully express himself.
Obi, a former Anambra Governor, was until his resignation one of the 15 aspirants vying for the presidential ticket of the PDP.
