Enyimba ended their two-game losing streak in Aba when Godwin Emmanuel scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute to stun the visitors.
Akwa United lost their second consecutive game of the season after slumping to a 1-0 loss to Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi. Saidu Mubarak scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute.
In other news, Sunshine Stars celebrated their first victory of the season with a 3-0 demolition of Kano Pillars at the National Stadium on matchday five.
Madaki Dauda scored a brace in the 47th and 90th minutes to help Katsina United to their second win of the season, a 2-1 victory over Gombe United. Ibrahim Yahaya had put Gombe in ahead in the 44th minute.
In Ilorin, Enugu Rangers and Kwara United drew 1-1, while Heartland beat Wikki Tourists 1-0 with Chukwudi Nworgu's 37th-minute penalty.
Muyiwa Balogun put MFM FC ahead in the 45th minute, and Oladayo Alabi added the second in the 61st minute as Abia Warriors lost 2-1 in Lagos. In the 84th minute, Godwin Obaje scored a consolation goal for the visitors.
