November 29, 2021 AC Milan Drop 3 Points Behind League Leaders Napoli After Shock Loss To Sassuolo

Sassuolo came from behind to win at the San Siro, denying AC Milan the chance tomove top of Serie A.

Milan took the lead through captain Alessio Romagnoli in the 21st minute, but Sassuolo leveled three minutes later when Gianluca Scamacca hammered in from 25 yards via the crossbar.

In the second half, Simon Kjaer turned into his own net for the oppositions second goal, then Domenico Berardi added the visitors' third goal soon after.

Romagnoli received a straight red for bringing Gregoire Defrel down late in the game.

Milan, who have gone three games without a win in the Italian top division, are still in second place, 3 points behind leaders Napoli who extendended their lead at the top to three points after a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Lazio on sunday.

The victory was Sassuolo's first in four games.
