At least three people have been confirmed dead following a Liquefied Petroleum Gas tanker explosion at Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, opposite Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Ikeja.
No fewer than 13 persons also sustained various degrees of injuries in the incident and have been taken to government hospitals for treatment.
About 25 cars were destroyed as a result of the explosion which occurred few minutes to 11 p.m.
Acting Zonal Coordinator, South-West Zonal Office, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), IBRAHIM FARINLOYE, told Inspiration fm the explosion threw the environment into panic due to the huge fire caused by the incident.
He said preliminary investigation is on but the explosion was alleged to have been caused by leakage while the LPG tanker was in motion.
On his part, the General Manager of the Lagos state Emergency Management Agency, Dr. FEMI OKE-OSANYINTOLU said emergency agencies were able to put out the fire after a combined effort.
