Six commissioners loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike have resigned from the cabinet of Governor Siminialaye Fubara.
The commissioners who tendered their resignations are the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Zacchaeus Adangor (SAN); the Commissioner for Works, Dr Des George-Kelly; the Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Woke; the Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Inime Aguma; the Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu; and the Commissioner for Education, Professor Chinedu Mmom.
Of the six commissioners, five served under Wike’s administration in the same capacity, while Woke was Wike’s Chief of Staff for eight years.
Their resignations were contained in separate letters to Governor Fubara.
On her part, Aguma of the Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation cited “personal” reasons for her resignation from the cabinet and wished the current administration well.
The Finance Commissioner, however, did not state why he pulled out of the cabinet.
