Five corps members have died while others sustained injuries following an auto crash that involved a commercial vehicle at Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The corps members from batch (C) stream II were travelling from Taraba to their home town in Yobe after completing their 21 days orientation course at Sibre Camp, Jalingo, Taraba State.
An eyewitness, Sule Audu, said the accident happened after the commercial bus carrying the corps members had a collision with a moving tractor.
He said the victims were rushed to Fika health facility where some of them died.
Meanwhile, colleagues of the deceased corp members from Yobe State have expressed shock over the incident.
The injured victims were transported to Damaturu Specialist Hospital.Â
When contacted, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Public Education Officer, Mr Hussaini Haruna, confirmed the incident.Â
Also, an auto crash in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, involving a truck has claimed seven lives.
It was learnt that 19 others were injured in a lone accident that occurred yesterday around the Badeku area of Ibadan.Â
When contacted, the Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Oyo State, Mrs Unce Chukwurah, who confirmed the accident, said the truck that was involved in the accident was carrying 26 labourers going for construction work.
