Karim Benzema Sends Real Madrid Seven Points Clear

Karim Benzema scored the only goal of the game as Real Madrid extended their lead at the top of La Liga to seven points by beating Athletic Bilbao.

The France international scored his 17th goal of the season when he diverted home Luka Modric's wayward shot five minutes before half-time.

The visitors pressed late on but were unable to find an equaliser and remain eighth, without a win in six games.

Victory extended Real's advantage over defending champions Atletico Madrid.

And Carlo Ancelotti's side were dominant for long periods, having 62% possession and 17 shots on goal.

They made the breakthrough when Benzema turned home from 10 yards for his 12th league goal of the season after Modric skewed a shot into his path when Unai Simon parried Marco Asensio's effort.

Benzema has now scored 35 goals in 46 games in all competitions for Real in 2021, equalling his best goalscoring tally in a single calendar year for the club in 2019.

Salah Double Helps Liverpool Ease Past Merseyside Rivals Everton

Liverpool increased the scrutiny on former manager Rafael Benitez as they cruised to an easy Merseyside derby win over Everton at Goodison Park.

Jurgen Klopp's side had won only once on their previous nine visits to Everton but a blistering start put them in cruise control as Jordan Henderson scored with a composed finish after nine minutes before setting Mohamed Salah clear to beat Jordan Pickford 10 minutes later.

Everton, having been outclassed for the first half, gave themselves hope when Demarai Gray ran on to Richarlison's pass to beat Alisson seven minutes before the break.

Liverpool were still the team possessing all the quality and threat and they killed the game off when Salah cashed in on Seamus Coleman's error to race clear and expertly score after 64 minutes.

With the mood inside Goodison Park turning mutinous - there were loud protests at the final whistle - Diogo Jota piled on the pain for Benitez and Everton when he took Andrew Robertson's pass in his stride before escaping the attentions of Allan to fire high past Pickford with 11 minutes left.

Seun Kuti Shuns Gov Sanwo-Olu’s ‘Walk Of Peace’ Plans

Kuti says the governor should walk the walk of justice.

Nigerian Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has distanced himself from the proposed 'walk of peace' by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Sanwo-Olu had sued for peace and harmony several well-meaning Nigerians including the music star.

During a chat with Channels TV, the music star rubbished the proposed walk, insisting that justice must prevail over the lives lost during the protest that rocked the nation in 2020.

"I am for justice. If you know me you know I am just a normal guy that wants things to happen the way they should happen. I'm not one of those that do things for popularity or for people to like me or to gain access to anybody," he said.

"I don't need to walk with the governor before there is peace in Lagos. There has been peace in Lagos for years that nobody had to walk for it. It is the thing that we need to sort. And to sort it now, only justice can do that. And we all know that there is no place in the world without justice."

When asked if he would join the walk of peace, the music star advised the governor to bring justice by doing the right thing.

"The governor should walk the walk he is talking about by bringing about justice. The governor is not an embodiment of justice, Seun Kuti is not an embodiment of justice, Falz is not an embodiment of justice, Mr Macaroni is not an embodiment of justice also," he added.

Davido Says He Didn’t Know About His Family’s Wealth Until He Was 13 Years Old

Top Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has said that he found out about his family's wealth when he was 13 years.

Davido revealed this to American On-Air-Personalities, Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings, on their "Earn Your Leisure" Podcast.

Davido said although his father is a billionaire, he lives a normal and simple life.

He said, "Even like till date, he is still so humble and modest with the way he spends, the way he goes about his business, the way he handles his business, it is still amazing to me.

"I remember growing up, from my younger days till I was 11, I wasn't really close to my dad because he was all about work, work, work! I remember him coming home late everyday, building something, I didn't know what he was doing. I didn't even know we were rich.

"I didn't know we were rich till probably when I was 13 because he lived so normal. He was a billionaire driving a Honda. I remember he had a brand new silver Honda Accord, he had a driver. My mum had a Toyota or Honda Truck, so I didn't know because they lived so modestly until we moved out of the house to the new house".
