Ed Sheeran Set To Feature Fireboy’s ‘Peru (Remix)’

Sheeran and Burna Boy featured together on Stormzy's 'Own It' together in 2019.

This weekend, Elton John will welcome Ed Sheeran to Rocket Hour on Apple Music 1, to discuss the release of the pair's brand-new Christmas single, 'Merry Christmas.'

During the chat, Ed and Elton reveal how they first decided to collaborate on a festive track, plus Ed discusses introducing his daughter to Black Sabbath over daily "vinyl breakfasts," teases details of his new remix of Fireboy DML’s “Peru," shares why Brandi Carlile’s song “Mother" means so much to him, and more.

Speaking on how he got to work with Fireboy, Sheeran says that, "So I got sent this a week ago, to remix it. Someone, a friend of mine, Jamal [Edwards] who runs SBTV sent it to me.

""He said, “Fireboy DML would love you on the remix of this song.” And I've just found it really intriguing. So I recorded a verse for it... and it's a song that's blowing up in Nigeria and Ghana at the moment and their club scene runs over Christmas.

Kogi State Government Drags EFCC To Court

The Kogi state government has dragged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to court over "unsubstantiated allegations" on bailout funds.

Over the past months, the anti-graft agency and the Kogi government have been at loggerheads over allegations that the state runs an account in a Bank containing about N20 billion bailout loan.

The EFCC had alleged that there were suspicious fraudulent activities related to the account.

In a statement it issued, the Kogi government said it has sued the commission at the state high court, demanding the sum of N35 billion as damages.

UK Says It Would Not Rescind Decision To Put Nigeria On Travel Red List

The British High Commission has said the United Kingdom would not reverse its travel ban on Nigeria because of a threat of retaliation by the Federal Government.

The Spokesman for the British High Commission, DEAN HURLOCK, said this in response over a statement by the Minister of Aviation, HADI SIRIKA, that the UK, Canada and Saudi Arabia would be put on Nigeria's travel ban on Tuesday.

HURLOCK stated that Britain had made it clear that travel abroad would be different this year, adding that the UK was sticking to its "standard background lines."

FG Orders Evacuation Of Trucks, Trailers On Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway

The Federal Government has ordered the evacuation of trucks and trailers along the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway before the year ends.

It said the move is to ease vehicular movement and reduce damage on the shoulders of the highway.

The Director of Highway Construction and Rehabilitation, Ministry of Works and Housing who is also the Chairman of the Committee, Engr FOLORUNSHO ESAN, disclosed this during an inspection tour of the road.

He said a Presidential Inter-Agency Committee has been constituted to this effect.
