Australia Register Unchanged 15-Man Squad For Remainder Of Ashes

For the remainder of the Ashes series against England, Australia has chosen an unchanged 15-man squad.

Both captain Pat Cummins and fellow fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will be back in the squad for the third Test, which begins on December 26 in Melbourne.

28-year-old Cummins, was ruled out of the ongoing second Test in Adelaide after being identified as a close contact of a Covid-19 positive person.

With a side strain, 30-year-old Hazlewood, was also ruled out of the second Test.

Australia has a 1-0 lead in the five-match series and appears to be on track to win the second Test.

In the Test bowling rankings, Cummins and Hazlewood are rated first and fourth, respectively.

Cummins was permitted to return home to New South Wales after receiving a negative PCR test and complete his self-isolation before travelling to Melbourne.

He will succeed Steve Smith, who is guiding Australia in Adelaide after taking up the captaincy from former skipper Tim Paine barely a month ago.

Seamers Michael Neser and Jhye Richardson performed admirably in their first Test in Adelaide, but both may be dropped for the Melbourne Test.

Tigers Woods Claims Second Spot With Son On Competitive Return

Tiger Woods came in second in the PNC Championship tournament in Florida, just narrowly missing out on a victory on his comeback to competitive golf.

At the family tournament, 45-year-old Woods, and his 12-year-old son Charlie made 11 consecutive birdies to finish on 25 under par, two shots off the lead.

He was competing in his first tournament since sustaining career-ending injuries in a vehicle accident a year ago.

He later said, "I'm really glad and thankful that I'm able to accomplish this."

"I still have my own leg, which was questionable for a while, and it's functioning. I'm just really tired - I'm not used to this.

"I think this might be only my fourth or fifth round of golf this year. I'm a little worn out. It was nice to have a cart."

Woods revealed that he and his son set a pre-tournament goal of playing two bogey-free rounds, which they accomplished.

"We got on a run, which was great. Charlie was hitting the ball unbelievably and made a few putts. It got interesting and a little tight toward the end, which was fun," he said.

"He's an unbelievable player and partner."
