PSG Offer Osimhen €13m Annual Salary

Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen appears poised to make a move to French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli for a hefty sum of €120 million. According to reports from the Italian publication Il Matino, Osimhen is also in line for a substantial salary increase.

Osimhen, who joined Napoli from Lille in 2020, recently inked a new contract in December, boosting his monthly earnings to £1.29 million (€1.5 million), nearly doubling his previous income. With a release clause of £113 million in his Napoli contract, Osimhen's stellar performances—scoring 31 goals in 39 appearances last season and 14 in 26 games this term—have attracted interest from top clubs across Europe.

Negotiations between Napoli and PSG are reportedly progressing well, indicating Osimhen's impending transfer to the French capital. Il Matino confidently asserts that the Nigerian is on the verge of joining PSG, where he is expected to earn an impressive salary of €13 million (£11.1 million) under a four-year deal currently under negotiation.

PSG's swift move for Osimhen follows their recent 3-2 loss to Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg, prompting the club's board to take decisive action. Premier League sides Arsenal and Chelsea, who had targeted the 25-year-old for this summer's transfer window, now face the prospect of missing out on his signing.

In light of this potential setback, the Premier League clubs must explore alternative options to bolster their forward lines. Names under consideration include RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, Brentford's Ivan Toney, Osimhen's compatriot at Bayer Leverkusen, Victor Boniface, and Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres.

According to reports from Il Corriere dello Sport, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is currently at the forefront of the competition to secure the signature of Victor Osimhen, despite keen interest from English Premier League clubs Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United.

The Italian media outlet suggests that PSG is edging closer to meeting Osimhen's €130 million release clause, viewing the Nigerian international as the ideal replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who is set to join Real Madrid.

Osimhen recently extended his contract until 2026; however, it includes a release clause of €130 million, prompting Napoli to consider parting ways with the leading Serie A scorer of the 2022–23 season at the end of the current campaign.

Il Corriere dello Sport also notes the historical ties between PSG and Napoli in completing transfer deals. Previously, players like Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani made the switch to Paris in 2012 and 2013, respectively, for a combined transfer fee of €95 million. Additionally, in 2022, Fabian Ruiz transferred to PSG for €23 million.

These past dealings between the two clubs hint at a potential agreement for Osimhen's transfer to PSG as they look to strengthen their squad for the future.

Napoli is reportedly eyeing Feyenoord sensation Santiago Gimenez as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen, who is anticipated to depart the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Osimhen, the Nigerian striker, is rumored to be seeking a move away from Napoli, with his contract reportedly containing a release clause ranging between €120 million to €130 million.

According to reports from Gazzetta, Napoli has already pinpointed Gimenez as the perfect successor to Osimhen. The talented forward has showcased his prowess this season, netting an impressive 21 goals in just 25 appearances for Feyenoord. It's anticipated that Feyenoord will demand a fee of approximately €50 million for Gimenez's services.

In addition to pursuing Gimenez, Napoli is also open to offers for Giovanni Simeone and Giancomo Raspadori as they prepare for potential squad adjustments ahead of the new season.

Nigerian Midfielder, Frank Onyeka Compares Ivan Toney And Victor Osimhen In An Interview

Frank Onyeka laughs out loud when he was asked if his £100 million-rated Nigeria teammate, Victor Osimhen will join him at Brentford after their Africa Cup of Nations heroics.

Onyeka, a Bees midfielder, started every game for the Super Eagles, who advanced to the final in Ivory Coast before losing to the hosts. Osimhen only scored once throughout that span, but his talent was evident.

The Napoli forward is in high demand, and with several Premier League big spenders looking for a frontman this summer, he might face Onyeka in England next season.

On Osimhen, Onyeka said:

“He’s a really good guy but he’s someone that wants to win,” says Onyeka when asked what it’s like to play with the highly-rated Napoli ace. “He doesn’t like to lose, even in training. He always wants to push players around him, try to encourage them. He’s a fighter.

Of course, Onyeka’s Brentford team-mate Ivan Toney is another striker top clubs could target this summer. Boss Thomas Frank reckons Toney could be worth £100m if he’s sold. For club and country, Onyeka has first-hand experience of playing with two of the world’s top forwards. So how do they compare?

“Ivan is an all-round player, he can go anywhere, he can come down into the midfield,” said Onyeka. “Osimhen is like a target man; he tries to attack the defenders for every ball. “Both are excellent strikers.”

However, another Brentford striker pushed himself into the goal of the season category last weekend. Yoanne Wissa’s spectacular overhead kick startled West London rivals Chelsea. Onyeka was ecstatic to get the assist, unwittingly popping the ball up for his teammate.
