Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Nets a hat-trick for Barcelona in win over Valencia.

Barcelona’s last-minute signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears to be paying off, as the striker scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Valencia.

After coming off the bench in previous league matches against Atletico Madrid and Espanyol, Aubameyang led the Catalans to a stunning victory at the Mestella with his first Barcelona goals on his complete La Liga debut.

The former Arsenal striker now has 10 goals this season, having last scored in the Gunners’ 3-1 win over Aston Villa in October.

Aubameyang’s first goal came in the 23rd minute when he calmly hit the top corner in a one-on-one situation, and his second came in the 38th minute from close range to make it 3-0 after Frenkie de Jong scored Barcelona’s second.

Barca’s fourth goal was first credited to Pedri, but the referee gave it to Aubameyang in his match report after the game because Pedri’s strike was deflected off the striker’s back on its way in.

Sergio Aguero Makes First Appearance As Barcelona Beat Valencia

Sergio Aguero made his long-awaited Barcelona debut as Philippe Coutinho's first goal in almost a year helped secure victory against Valencia.

Aguero joined Barcelona in the summer after leaving Manchester City but had been sidelined by injury.

He came on with three minutes to go, shortly after Coutinho had made sure of Barcelona's win.

The former Liverpool forward struck from close range to add to goals from Ansu Fati and Memphis Depay.

Jose Gaya had given the visitors an early lead but Fati marked his first start in almost a year with a goal soon after, firing home from the edge of the box.

Fati was then fouled inside the box and Depay stepped up to convert the penalty.

As Valencia pushed for an equaliser Coutinho scored for the first time since a 4-0 win against Osasuna in November 2020 to secure the win.

Real Madrid Beat Valencia To Move To Second

Karim Benzema scored his 17th goal of the season as Real Madrid claimed a comfortable win over Valencia to return to second in La Liga.

The hosts dominated the first half and deservedly took an early lead when Benzema curled in a precise finish.

Toni Kroos then added a second before the break as he finished off a neat move.

Valencia did not manage a shot on goal until the second half with Maxi Gomez testing Thibaut Courtois from distance.

The win means Real Madrid are five points behind leaders Atletico Madrid, who have two games in hand.
