Troops Rescue 4 Kidnapped Victims In Kebbi State

The troops of the 8th Division, Nigerian Army, in conjunction with operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps and local vigilantes, have raided a terrorist camp in Kebbi State.

During the operation, the troops killed one of the terrorists, rescued four kidnapped persons, and recovered arms and ammunition.

This was made known by the acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 1st Brigade Gusau, Captain.

He said the raid was conducted in the identified terrorists’ hideout at Sabon Gari village in the Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Ibrahim added that all the rescued victims have since been reunited with their families, while troops continued to trail the wounded and fleeing terrorists.

Troops Eliminate Over 50 Terrorists In 3 Weeks

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has disclosed that troops of the armed forces eliminated over 50 terrorists in various operations in the North-East and North-West theatres of operation in three weeks.

The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, made this known while briefing newsmen on the operations of the military across the country in Abuja.

Danmadami said the troop of Operation Hadin Kai had between December 30 and January 12, eliminated over 25 Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the North East.

He said the gallant troops also apprehended 18 terrorists and 21 logistics suppliers, two foreign informants and five kidnappers across the theatre during the period.

General Danmadami also gave an update on the operations of the troops against the outlawed Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Troops Kill 50 Bandits In Kaduna State

No fewer than 50 bandits have been killed by a combined team of security officials during an operation in Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna state.

The bandits were neutralized during an operation carried out by both the ground and air assault in the Saulawa-Farin Ruwa axis of Birnin Gwari local government area.

According to the Kaduna state Commissioner for internal Security and Home affairs, Samuel Aruwan, a Nigerian Air Force helicopter gunship provided close air support to ground troops advancing from the Dogon-Dawa-Damari-Saulawa axis.

He said following extensive scans, bandits were spotted on five motorcycles, about 4km east of Saulawa, waiting to ambush the ground forces.

Aruwan said they were engaged vigorously by the helicopter gunship and were wiped out.
