Germany Offers To Train Nigerian Policemen On How To Handle Protests Without Guns Amid Controversial ENDSARS Report

The German government has asked the Federal Government to release at least 30,000 Nigeria Police personnel for special training in Germany.

They would be taught how to manage protests among Nigerians without using weapons.

A high-level delegation from Germany, which visited the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, MUSILIU SMITH specifically said it was willing to train the new crop of recruits into the Nigeria Police Force on best practices on street protest management.

The team, led by a retired Inspector-General of the German Federal Police, MATTHIAS SEEGER, had earlier visited the force headquarters where they interacted with the Inspector-General of Police, USMAN BABA.

But the German’s position on the management of protests without the use of firearms was countered by SMITH, who said Nigerian protesters were usually armed and law enforcement agents have to defend themselves and other citizens from assaults by the protesters.

Professor Pat Utomi Denies Report Joining Others to Float New Political Party

Political economist Prof. Pat Utomi has debunked rumors that he, alongside other prominent Nigerians, are planning to announce the formation of a new political party on October 1.

Utomi has recently been linked in the media with a “third force,” called Rescue Nigeria Project to give the electorate an alternative platform to the ruling All Progressives Congress and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

Some founders of RNP include former Kwara Governor Ahmed Abdulfatai; former Minister of Education Prof. Tunde Adeniran; former Cross River Governor Donald Duke; and former House of Representatives member Usman Bugaje.

INEC was recently reported as saying that 95 groups have recently applied to be registered as political parties.

But Utomi, who spoke on the sidelines of a press conference announcing winners of the Year 2020 Zik Prize in Leadership Awards in Lagos, was hesitant to describe the movement as a political party.

He said the group and similar others were more interested in getting competent leaders into office, irrespective of the political party platform.

But the Secretary of the National Consultative Forum, Mr. Wale Okunniyi told Inspiration FM that Nigerians should not get confused about the Rescue Nigeria Project and the NCF.

Faith Evans Reportedly Arrested For Alleged Attack On Stevie J

Faith Evans was reportedly arrested for domestic violence last week. According to TMZ, the police were called to the veteran singer’s Los Angeles home after she and her husband Stevie J got into a “heated” argument.

When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed visible marks and scratches on Stevie’s face. Consequently, Evans was taken into custody and booked for felony domestic violence. She reportedly bonded out on the same day.

Evans and Stevie tied the knot in July 2018 during a business trip to Las Vegas. Their relationship blossomed while they were working on music together.

“There was always a love there, but I never saw him in a romantic way in all of the years of our friendship,” Evans said shortly after they got married. “A couple of years ago I was single, we were working together and I felt a little something.”

In July 2019, the couple denied there was trouble in paradise despite rumors suggesting otherwise.

Fans noticed something might be up when they stopped following each other on Instagram. The former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta personality also fired off a string off tweets indicating they had hit a rough patch — from “Drunk people always speak their truth” and “Ones insecurities can damage them” to “All that glitters ain’t gold” and “Cherish what you love just know nothing will last forever.”

Evans nor Stevie have publicly commented on the latest incident.
